Meet Dr. Amy-Jane Griffiths, a Researcher Specializing in Neurodiverse Employment
At Autism Insights Foundation, we’re proud to be supporting research that illuminates the challenges faced by autistic employees in the workforce. One of the key researchers we are working with is Dr. Amy-Jane Griffiths, a faculty member at Chapman University. Dr. Griffiths’ research is focused on understanding the complexities of neurodivergence in professional settings, and how employers can make accommodations to ensure greater success for neurodiverse individuals.
Dr. Griffiths specializes in exploring the intersection of autism and employment, investigating how workplace environments, culture, and policies can be improved to support autistic individuals. Her research has the potential to significantly influence how businesses think about inclusivity and how they approach hiring and supporting neurodivergent talent. At AIF, we believe that by funding research like Dr. Griffiths’, we can bridge the gap between neurodiverse talent and companies looking for dedicated employees.
Her findings will also help us guide the job coaching we provide through our programs. Understanding the barriers autistic individuals face in the workplace, from communication struggles to sensory sensitivities, can directly shape how we better support them in achieving long-term career success.
We are excited to partner with experts like Dr. Griffiths who are paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable workforce. By supporting this impactful research, we are one step closer to creating a future where neurodiverse employees can thrive.
